Membership

 

Membership Eligibility

A) The Company shall have individual Producers as its Members
B) Qualification and procedure for obtaining Membership

  • An individual Producer engaged in production of milk from Milch animals owned by him and responsible for the care and management of cow(s) and buffalo(es) would be eligible for applying for Membership of the Company. Membership shall be limited to only one producer from each household.
  • An individual Producer desirous of becoming a Member of the Company shall apply in prescribed application form to the Company and undertake in writing to abide by the provisions of the Memorandum & the Articles of Association of the Company.

In addition, he/it will pay a non-refundable admission fee, subscribe to equity shares of the Company and satisfy other conditions laid down by the Board from time to time.

  • The Producer shall pay a non-refundable admission fee of Rs.100/- (if the applicant is a male) and Rs. 50/- (if the applicant is a female) and subscribe to at least five equity shares of Rs.100/- each. The amount shall be paid either through depositing the amount in the Company’s bank account or through the milk bill payment deduction or an appropriate combination of both.
  • The Producer shall agree to the following in writing:
  • To supply the entire surplus milk available in the household to the Company.
  • To pour milk for at least 200 days in a year and supply a minimum of 500 lts of milk annually;
  • To subscribe for additional shares matching the annual quantity of milk supplied (calculated at the rate of Re.1/- for every lt of annual quantity of milk supplied);
  • The total milk supplied to the Company during the flush months namely November to February shall not exceed such times as may be decided by Chief Executive from time to time compared to milk supplied during the lean months namely April to July in a financial year. This may be different for cow & buffalo milk. The Board shall be kept informed.
  • To undertake to supply good quality milk according to the quality standards laid down by the Company from time to time; and
  • To undertake not to engage in trading of milk other than own produce

C) Conditions for continuation of Membership:

Membership shall continue as long as a Member does not fail to meet the criteria as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time.

  • The member is engaged in production of milk from milch animals owned by him and responsible for the care and management of cow(s) and buffalo(es).
  • The member has supplied milk for at least 200 days during the previous financial year and poured a minimum of 500 litres of milk annually.
  • The member has subscribed for shares matching the annual quantity of milk supplied.
  • The total milk supplied to the Company during the winter months namely December to March shall not exceed such times as may be decided by Chief Executive from time to time compared to milk supplied during the summer months namely June to September during the previous financial year.
  • The milk supplied by the member has met all the quality standards as stipulated by the Company from time to time.

In addition, Membership shall continue without being disqualified so long as,

  • – The member has not defaulted in any payment of Rs 1000/- or more to be made to the MPC for a period of last 6 months or more.
  • – The member has not indulged in an act which is detrimental to the functioning of the Company as also to the interest of the Company.
  • – The member has not indulged in any business which is in conflict to the business interest of Milk Producer Company.
  • – The member has not wilfully deceived the Milk Producer Company.
  • – The Member has not provided any incorrect information to the Company. The company can verify the information provided by the member on suo motto basis or on receiving complaint from a bona fide member.
  • – The Member has not been found defaulted in supplying the entire surplus milk of her household to the Company.

The Membership may also be cancelled if ….

  • More milk quantity poured in the member code in comparison to the actual milk production/surplus in the household as declared by the members
  • Fake membership including more than one members in the same household (including the Sahayak family)
  • Member code is used to pour milk of somebody else
  • If membership is allotted in Sahayak’s name
